What a great weekend!  I got to spend time with my family; we watched the Buckeyes roll over Michigan State in a good football game; and it was another successful outing on the streets of the marathon.  This was the coldest weather yet, but it was a perfect running day - low 30s at the start and not much over 40 by the finish, very little wind, and sunny blue skies.  Plus a good field of runners - I never had to run alone.  I even ran with a fan from 'that school up north' while we ran past the Horseshoe, no less.  It was a lot of fun to have the support of family all along the way.  Overall, a great weekend and good day.
Nearing the half way point (that's me in orange on the right), I'm running over to see my brother Lance and nephew Karey.  Chad (my other brother) joined me and ran over half a mile at this point.  We were running through the tall building district on High Street during these miles.
Mile 26.1.  On the downhill stretch toward the finish line.  I'm the 3rd runner from the right.  A nice finish area with people lining the streets for the last .2 mile.  Hearing their screams of encouragement and excitement helps a runner finish strong.  I felt good, but was still glad to see the finish line getting close.
Somewhere around mile 19.  At this point we were running through a nice little neighborhood.  I was feeling good and strong.  Lance joined me for a stretch starting here.
After the finish line.  I felt really good.  That made it fun to have family waiting there.  Karey probably didn't know how heavy he felt at this point!  But I was glad to hold him.  He was very impressed by the athletes who pushed themselves all the way in wheelchairs with their hands; "yeah, they didn't have any legs!"
